Because We Matter is USDA licensed and inspected, and performs above & beyond requirements for animal care & enclosures. Most of our animals come from Animal Control, Fish & Wildlife, or sanctuary-to-sanctuary.

As space allows: we take wolfdogs, and most species of mammals, reptiles, and birds.

Our priority is quality of life over quantity of rescue - in other words, if we can’t provide appropriately, we will not be able to accept your surrender and will point you toward other possible facilities. We work closely with rescue partners to rehome dogs, cats, rabbits, and other legal-to-own species.

We do NOT take: lions, tigers, & bears. Oh my.
